  ART HANSEN

In 1952, at the age of 22, Art Hansen received a Pulitzer Prize and hosted his first solo exhibition at the Seattle Art Museum. In 1953, he received a Fullbright Fellowship, which allowed him to travel overseas where he studied at the Academie de Bilenden Kunste in Munich, Germany.

Since 1960, Art Hansen has worked steadily on his art. Much of his inspiration comes from the natural beauty of Vashon Island; using many different styles, the artist has captured the beautiful surroundings for all to enjoy. Hansen is able to portray the true beauty of the Pacific Northwest through his unique paintings, lithographs, and etchings. These fine pieces of work appear in a number of private and public collections around the nation.
