"As an artist, my main focus is the exploration of the quiet power of understated form through woodturning. While I take great care and effort to utilize the grain and patterns of the wood itself to relate thoughtfully to the form of a piece, it is the form itself that usually excites me. I often create series of similar work from the same tree to explore and study nuances of form and wood movement. This allows me to best utilize the specific material in order to pursue the subtleties of form that interest me." |
